Welcome to the last and final week of this process. This week is going to be fun. By the end of this week I plan to be completely done with this process so I can give the bracelets out next Wednesday. My final product I am planning to be is the final bracelets. We are presenting later then I thought we were so I am going to have to tell the kids I will give there bracelets out when the break is over. I plan to meet with my mentor to see if the final presentation and final product is good quality. I am going to create a presentation of the process to present to the class.
This process has had good times and bad times. I have had a lot of fun making these pretty bracelets and had a lot of fun sharing them with children and creating that bond with each other. Throughout this process I have had to complete a lot of bracelets for big buddies and little buddies. It got challenging when I had to make a lot for Pinebrook Connections. It was hard for me to stay on track and complete seven bracelets each week. This week I plan to get a picture of the amount of bracelets I made for only one organization. I hope everyone enjoyed this process and saw how much of a bond was created for the children. I hope people decide they want to be a part of this process and try to get involved with the program to help the young children. This process has really influenced em and showed me really how much something small can impact someone so small.

Welcome to the last week of my project. This project is twelve weeks long and I plan to be done a week early to make sure I made everyone a bracelet and make sure all the big buddies have one. I plan to make the extra people and the big buddy bracelets for my final product and the product i'm going to bring into class to show. Pinebrook connections meets on every Wednesday so I plan to be done next Wednesday and be able to also bring those in to show the amount I made for one program. My mentor came home and made sure I was on task and made sure I was going to meet my requirement to be done by the end of this week. In class once I present I plan to give the bracelets out the next Wednesday. My final product is going to be the bracelets made for the Pinebrook Connections program and the extra big buddies bracelets needed.
I have completely finished twenty-one bracelets and I only have eight more to make and then I plan to give them out. This week is going to be stressful and fun. The stressful part is going to be finishing them in time and making sure I get everyone missed a bracelet made. My mentor is going to check on me at the end to see how the presentation went and if I met my goal of being done. This week I also plan to get a picture of the big group that I made the bracelets for and the amount of bracelets I made. This week is also going to be fun because these kids have been asking me for a long time when the bracelets are going to be done so they are going to be very excited. I hope everyone who has looked at my page has seen the amount of time and effort I put into this project. I also hope everyone sees the bond it creates between the big buddies and the little buddies. Welcome to the tenth week of this twelve week Genius Hour project. This week is going to be challenging. This week we get out of school for three days. Those three days my family and I are going to be celebrating Thanksgiving so it will be challenging to get seven bracelets done. Tuesday night I plan to make six or seven to be completely done for the week so I will be caught up for the eleventh week. The eleventh week I plan to make the extra big buddies a bracelet to bring to show the class at the end of this process.
My mentor is coming home for Thanksgiving so I plan to get her to check my work and see if my final product is going o be good. If I finish the bracelets for Pinebrook Connections late I could bring in those bracelets to show the class for the final product. In the Pinebrook Connections program there have been two or three new children join so I will have to go back and see what colors they want at the end so I might bring in those bracelets also for the final product. At the end of this process my goal is to just get the children along with the big buddies to be able to create a bond that will last a lifetime. Making the bracelets has really opened my mind to the amount of children that have really been affected by the bond I have created between them. This project has created an even bigger bond between myself with my little buddy. I hope the children really feel the bond and the people visiting my site want to get more involved with the community and the opportunities they can take to impact children. ![]() Welcome to the ninth week of this process. This week I am supposed to have fourteen bracelets done for the Pinebrook Connections program. Last week I was supposed to have seven. Well, I didn´t make any bracelets last week so this week I have to make fourteen to be finished by the end of this process. Next week we have Thanksgiving break so I plan to make a lot during that break to try and finish before the twelfth week so I have time to finish the new big buddies and figure out what I am going to bring in for my product to show to the class. In Pinebrook Connections I also have a little buddy. Once I completely give out all the bracelets I plan to figure out who has a big buddy and who needs another bracelet for there big buddy. Once I figure out the bracelets needed for Pinebrook Connections I plan to go to the YMCA to figure out if there are bracelets needed for that program. This week I plan to be completely caught up on the bracelet making so I can achieve my goal of being done by the eleventh week. In the last week I plan to make sure everyone in both programs have bracelets. Next week with the long weekend I plan to meet with my mentor and show her my progress and the pictures taken throughout this process. This week I plan to get a picture of my progress and show everyone the amount of bracelets I have completed in these nine weeks. My goal is to be done with both programs by the eleventh week so I have time to make the big buddies bracelets and figure out how to show my final product to everyone. I hope everyone is excited as me to see the final product of this twelve week process. Welcome to the eighth week of this twelve week process. This week is going to be exciting. This week I plan to start on the Pinebrook connections bracelets. These are going to take longer so I plan to make one each night of the week. There are twenty-two bracelets needed to be made for the Pinebrook connections program. If I make one each week the projected finish time would be week eleven which gives me time to make sure everyone has one and time to make more if I forgot anyone.
I have completely finished the YMCA and they ahve been handed out as you have seen. This week I plan to have at least seven bracelets made for the Pinebrook connections program. Like I said there are twenty-eight bracelets needed for that program. Only about three people have big buddies but like I said I plan to have a whole week to make sure everyone has a bracelet. I plan to meet with my mentor this weekend and I plan to let her know my progress and my new goal of being done with these bracelets by week eleven. At the end of this process I am planning on bringing in some peoples bracelets to show the final product. Once I finish in the Pinebrook connections program I plan to make the extra big buddies there bracelets. I plan to bring in the big buddies bracelets I have made for the final product to show to the class. In the YMCA I had the make extra bracelets due to two new kids coming in the program and I also forgot some other peoples bracelets. At one point I had to catch up so much I stayed up and made seven bracelets in one night. ![]() Welcome back to the seventh week of this twelve week project. This week I am supposed to give out the bracelets to the YMCA. Thursday I plan to do that. Once I give the bracelets out I plan to get a big group picture of everyone with there bracelets. If a big buddy isn't there then they can't be in the picture. Not every big buddy goes every week. If there big buddy isn't there they can keep the bracelet with them to give to there big buddy when they come back. After this Thursday I plan to start on the Pinebrook connections bracelets. In this program there are much more kids then the YMCA. I have to make about twenty-eight in four weeks. I plan to make a bracelet each night so I finish with time left to make sure every big and little buddy got one. At the end of ten weeks I plan to be completed with all the bracelets. Once I am done I plan to make a few extra to bring in to show my product to the class. I will have completed everything with time left over so I will have met my goal if everything goes as planned. My father is the director of this program so him and I plan to make sure everyone got one and any new people got one. Lats week the children in Pinebrook connections were asking me when I am going to bring the bracelets so I plan to get their's done on time so they will be able to create a bond like the YMCA children are doing. My mentor has been checking in on me and I have told her my new goal of making a bracelet each night and she is making sure I am completing my goal. Last week I didn't make two bracelets on two nights so I had to catch up on the bracelets on Saturday. If I have time this week I plan to make more then one on some nights to complete them for the next week so I can have a few days off so I dont have to make bracelets. I plan to have a picture this week to show you how many bracelets I made and the bond of the children with a big group picture by Friday. Welcome to the half way point of this twelve week process. This week is going to be different because I plan to finish my bracelets by Sunday. Next Monday I plan to give the bracelets out to the YMCA. I have found a way to be productive and get them done on time and not be rushed at the end. This week I started making a bracelet a night. If I continue with making a bracelet a night I will be done with everyone's bracelets in ten weeks. Once I have finished these bracelets at the end of ten weeks I plan to get all the big buddies that are new and make them there bracelets.
In the YMCA there has been two new bid buddies since I started the program. I have made all the little buddy bracelets and the big buddy bracelets that had to be matching. In the YMCA there is two new kids that have came to the program. I still have to get there colors and make there bracelets. In Pinbrook connections there is a lot more children. There are twenty-eight kids just in one program. It should take me four weeks to complete there bracelets and get them handed out by the end of ten weeks. My mentor has checked in on me for this week and I plan to send her pictures of my progress. Next Tuesday I will have a picture of the group that I gave the bracelets to. Once I have finished the YMCA's bracelets I am going to give them out in pairs. Some little kids don't have big buddies but they still are going to experience the bond created and hopefully want to sign up so they can get a big buddy to create that bond with. Welcome back to another great week with this bracelet making process. This is almost the halfway point. At the halfway point I plan to have eighteen bracelets completely finished. I only have about four left in the YMCA then I plan to start on the pinebrook connections bracelets. In the pinebrook connections program there are twenty-three bracelets needed. This week I have completed fifteen total bracelets. I am on track to have thirty-six done by then end of this process.
I am planning to give the YMCA bracelets out at the end of next week. I have completely finished all the little and big matching bracelets for the YMCA. At the end of this week I plan to get a big group picture of my success and everyone's bond that they created. I plan to post a photo on my blog for everyone to see and enjoy the progress and the bond created. My mentor Lyndsay Crotts has checked up on me and I plan to make sure she checks up on me at the end of this week to make sure I give everyone's bracelets out and make sure everyone has created a better bond with there big buddy. Although not everyone has a big they still are going to feel the bond created by other buddies and want to get involved and get a big buddy like there friends. At the end of this twelve week process if anyone gets a new big buddy I don't plan to make them a bracelet. ![]() The fourth week of bracelets welcome back!! This week I plan to decrease the amount made per week to two per week because they take a lot of time and they are very hard to make. I did'nt expect this to be something to occur but I think it would be easier to make two a week instead of three. So at the end of this week I plan to have at least eleven made. Also, I plan to get a picture with my little buddy this week to show the community and show everyone who my little buddy is and to show are bond before the bracelets. My little buddy and I have a very close bond. I think making these bracelets will get are bond even closer then it is now. Everyone in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program have got there big buddy. This week the YMCA at Pinebrook that i'm part of got two new little's which means I have to get there bracelet colors and sizes. At the end of this week I plan to get a complete head count of everyone in both programs. My mentor Lyndsay plans to check up on me this week and make sure I have my twelve bracelets made for the week. All of the kids have been asking me when they are going to get the bracelets. I plan to give the bracelets out at the end of this process when I have them all made. Not everyone has a big buddy so I only have to make six sets of matching bracelets. Throughout this process I plan to just create a tight bond that should be created with the little and the big. ![]() Welcome back to the third week of my bracelets for buddies blog. This is the third week of this twelve week project. My bracelets have turned out well this far. At the end of this week I plan to have at least nine bracelets. This week Wednesday is that day I will get free to make bracelets. I have completely finished three sets of bracelets for three pairs. This week I plan to let my little buddy see her bracelet I have completed so we can take a picture to post on the blog. My little buddy is a girl and she said she is super excited to see the finishing product. My mentor Lyndsay Crotts has checked in on me each week to see if i´m meeting my goal each week. I have completely finished getting everyone´s color´s and getting everyone who has a big buddy so I know how many sets I have to make. In Pinebrook connections there are at least twenty-six kids. There is only two sets of a little and a big. I plan to start there bracelets after I finish everyone´s bracelet in the YMCA. After the half way point I plan to make sure everyone that has a new big that I didnt count in the beginning gets a matching bracelet so they can also feel that bond. At the end of this process I am planning to make sure everyone that got matching bracelets with there big create a better bond then they already have. Each little buddy with a big sees them every week so most of them already have a good bond. These bracelets will create an even bigger bond because they will be matching bracelets. The little´s will be very happy and excited for these bracelets because most of them have big buddies. I hope the community and the children all get a big impact by this movement. I will be sharing more pictures with the community and sharing more pictures on my blogs for everyone to see. I hope this is as exciting for the community as it is for me. |
